Rule of the Order - Part Nine

Healing Bowl practice

It is the purpose of every monk regardless of the religion or spiritual lineage with which he is associated to offer prayers for the people. Healing Bowl practice offers a way to collect prayer and healing requests. Find a covered bowl - one that attracts you as a sacred object. Consecrate is for spiritual use and use it to collect the prayer and healing requests from people you encounter during the day. Write the requests on slips of paper and place them in the bowl. There are three principles ways of addressing the requests in the bowl. First, as you do morning and evening practice, send Reiki to the requests in the bowl. Hold the bowl in you hands and activate the healing flow. Say prayers to your deities if you have any that the requests in the bowl may be answered.

You may also use the bowl in group meetings, Reiki classes, church services - anywhere people are gathered for prayer. Place the bowl on the altar or central table and let those present know that it is there to collect their prayer and healing requests. At some point during your time together, bring all people in the group together to send Reiki and other healing energy and prayer to the requests in the bowl.

Thirdly, as a mendicant order the Reiki Peace Order monks are encouraged to go begging. Rather than beg for support, however, the Reiki Peace Order monk is to beg for people's healing and prayer requests. Take you Healing Bowl with you as you go about your business and let people know what the bowl is for. Collect their requests and send Reiki to them at Morning and Evening Practice.

The monk must be careful with the requests. They are not to be taken lightly. The requests are to be treated with Reiki and the strictest confidence is to be kept in handling them. It is not even necessary for the monk to know what the specific requests are. The monk's role is to offer Reiki for the liberation and healing of all those who have given requests. The requests are to be disposed of with respect and dignity, preferably committed to a ritual fire every 21 days so that the smoke of the fire carries the requests into the healing mind of the universe.
